If you love cats Istanbul is the place for you! There are "stray" cats everywhere you look. Now even though these cats may live on the streets they have the heart of the locals to thank for fresh water and food. We would always see locals bringing out scraps for the cats or bending down to give them a little scratch. The cats are completely welcomed in the city and it was wonderful to see these locals taking care of them. We did not see nearly as many stray dogs but there were around. All of the ones we saw had some sort of chip in their ear so the locals do keep an eye on them but its no lie the cats are favoured in this city.
