My final week in Europe is here, looking back at all the places in Europe I have visited I have come up with a list of my top 5 favourite cities.
1. Dublin, Ireland
Home away from home! From the first moment I came to this country I was in love. The weather is crap but the people are a heck of a lot of fun. The atmosphere is lively and homey. I loved it so much I went there 3 times. Everyone is friendly, kind and always down for a drink. The pubs are booming with live music and people singing and dancing till they kick them out. My favourite places becomes so a lot based on atmosphere and vibes, when an area or a group of complete strangers can lift your mood and make you see the better things with just their way of life and outlook... Now that's somewhere you wanna stick to.
2. Amsterdam, Netherlands
Ahh this city is so awesome! Not once did I ever not see someone running, biking is the main mode of transportation and it is absolutely beautiful. When they wanted to expand the city they created rings of rivers around the city, now you can see rings and rings surrounding the city. Along these rivers are the iconic house boats. Oh how I would love to own one of those! The atmosphere of this city is bright, healthy and beautiful. Flowers and trees line every street and river.
3. Florence, Italy
Now I will admit I am a bit biased when it comes to Florence, I did live there for 2 years. But can you blame me? It's Florence Italy! Not a day went by when I would get bored from walking around town, a 30min walk to school felt like 5mins. You really feel like you are back in time, the architecture little shops and live music sets an atmosphere you just can't beat.
4. Trogir, Croatia
This place was such a neat find! We had gone to Split and Dubrovnik but nothing beat the peaceful happy atmosphere of Trogir. The windy streets between restaurants brought you to new courtyards filled with shops and more restaurants. I could never forget the square of gelato! An entire courtyard square wall-to-wall filled in gelato shops. The open air whisking through as you sit outside, then taking a walk up a pretty steep hill to get to our apartment. From our apartment on the side of a hill you see the view of the picture below, a sweeping view over the water and mountains where the sun perfectly set every night. My love for mountains and water grew 10x stronger after this trip and will always give me a reason to go back to Croatia.
