Bucharest, Romania - Goodbye Europe

Destination 4/9 June 16 - 18 Where we stayed: Funny Hostel Transportation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ General costs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sights ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Accommodation ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Friday June 16 Today has been one heck of a day.... one of the longest most complicated traveling days I've had! Check out my post from Moscow on the earlier events of today's travels! Our connecting flight from Amsterdam to Bucharest was delayed by about 40mins which was perfect for us. This meant we didn't have to run down the halls of the Amsterdam airport but we could even get a bite to eat! Yay food for tired travellers. We arrived in Bucharest around 2 and since it was so late the public transport was no longer running. So, not that we were complaining but we jumped on the first taxi we saw which brought us straight to the hostel and that is where we instantly passed out. Saturday June 17 After our exhausting and stressful journey yesterday we treated ourselves to a sleep in morning. Granted we did only get to our hostel around 2:00am this morning so we just got our normal 8hrs of sleep. We walked to the old town about 30mins. We were bad tourists and got some subway for lunch, we just needed some food we knew we would like before we ventured to do more sight seeing. We went to Cărturești Carusel bookstore, Macca - Vilacrosse Passage, Palace of Parliament and the Grădina Eden.

Grădina Eden It started to thunder and pour down rain as we walked from the Gadina Eden to our hostel. By the time we got to our hostel we were soaking wet and cold. We took some time to dry off and get warm before heading out again. We first went to the Food Hood to check out the food there, it was a collection of food trucks. Really cool place. After that we stopped by the Skybar (hostel and bar). It's the only rooftop bar in Bucharest! We got a couple drinks and enjoyed the view before called it a night.

Sunday June 17 Still trying to make up for loss of sleep and exhaustion we slept in this morning and then called an uber to.... Therme! The largest spa in Europe!! We thought it was a nice way to treat ourselves after the hectic travel day trying to get out of Russia. Our flight wasn't until 6:00pm so we spent a good 3hrs there, had some lunch and simply relaxed before heading to the airport (which it was very close to). A little tip for the spa is that there is no big general clock..... so you tend to loose track of time easily.

Overall we had a good time here but we definitely wish we had that extra day we missed!
